We built FStop with safety as a core priority from the beginning but - no matter how much technology, process, and policy we have in place - there are some things you should always keep in mind when using FStop or any other online social networking platform. Please read the following and do not hesitate to reach out to us in-app with any questions.
Meeting In Person
Meeting someone for the first time is really exciting! We're happy to facilitate this through FStop, but please do take precautions to stay safe:
Get to know the other person before meeting them.
Ask for references. Do your research.
Tell a friend about your plans before meeting up with a member for the first time.
Be aware that there are bad people out there - and some of them may be using FStop and other social platforms in sketchy ways. Please be careful and report ANY suspicious behavior to your relationship manager in-app.
We recommend that you refrain from posting any personally identifiable information directly to your profile - things like your full name, address, phone number, or email address. Even when speaking to someone in a private chat conversation - you should always err on the side of caution when meeting strangers.
You should also know that we will NEVER ask you for your password over email. If anyone asks you for this information, please report them immediately.
Anyone who asks you to buy a product
Anyone who harrasses you or sends you offensive messages
Anyone behaving inappropriately after meeting you in person
Do not give any form of your financial information to anyone. If anyone asks you for your credit card or bank account information, please report them to us immediately.
